Job Description

The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region. Conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.

Nurses must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations, ACLS certified, and familiar with advanced hemodynamics, including the usage of pressors and titration protocols. Knowledge of antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, and related monitoring is essential. Experience with HFNC, BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent is also required.

Ideal candidates will have large scale adult Progressive Care Unit experience and community hospital ICU background. The average patient load is 3 high acuity patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on health management and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Epic experience required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Experience in adult Progressive Care and ICU settings preferred.
