12-hour day shifts, 7 AM to 7 PM, with every other weekend required. Flexibility is expected to help fill gaps in the permanent schedule.

Job Description

Join a dedicated team in a 48-bed medical-surgical unit, providing quality care for diverse patient populations. The unit primarily handles cases such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, altered mental status, gastrointestinal bleeds, alcohol withdrawal, and general falls/weakness.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5-7 during the day shift and 1:6-8 during night shifts.
• Titrate drips with some exceptions, but cardiac drip titration is not required.
• Collaborate with Charge Nurses, who have patient assignments.
• Support nursing aides/patient care techs in duties such as patient vitals, blood glucose monitoring, and EKG application.
• Monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
• Engage in professional development and utilize the Cerner charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcome.
• BLS Certification and a valid RN License are required.
• Certifications such as CNA, or completion of a PCT class are acceptable for support roles.
