Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a culture of safety for patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients upon admission.
- Identify teaching needs and establish goals tailored to the patient’s diagnosis.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient assessments and interventions.
- Engage in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care.
- Initiate and manage discharge planning from day one of admission.
- Communicate important patient information to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel effectively.
- Provide reassurance and direction in emergency situations.
- Participate in team-building activities to maintain a positive work environment.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required
- ACLS Certification Required (CIRH ONLY)
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
