Alternating 3x12-hour shifts (Days: 07:00 - 19:00; Nights: 19:00 - 07:00), including weekdays and weekends.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVIUC) Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for patients undergoing fresh open-heart admissions, managing both acute and chronic cardiac conditions in a high-acuity environment. Candidates must be experienced with specialized equipment and procedures relevant to cardiac surgery and critical care.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the operating room (OR).
• Monitor and manage invasive hemodynamic devices, including Swan-Ganz and Impella.
• Administer Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) as needed.
• Provide comprehensive care including arterial line management, sedation administration, and support during procedure preparation.
• Assist with chest tube management and post-operative care for cardiac patients.
• Interpret arterial blood gases and monitor for dysrhythmias.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular nursing or related specialties.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with cardiac surgery patients and related technology is essential.
• Current West Virginia nursing license or compact license is mandatory.
