Job Description
The Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for adult patients with established medical conditions and those requiring hospitalization due to complications of a disease process. Nurses will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients in a telemetry capable setting, ensuring patient safety and effective treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor patients using telemetry and respond effectively to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
- Float between various Cone Health facilities as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit.
- Charge RN experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Experience with the EPIC charting system is mandatory.
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage rapid response teams.
- Knowledge of care for feeding tubes, renal failure, blood product administration, and peripheral line management.
- Active RN license in North Carolina.
