Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30). Requires every other weekend availability.
Job Description
The Float Nurse will provide care in various units including HICU, BHU, and Burk 2 (LTC Vent unit). This position requires floating to the ICU step down, Brain Health, and LTC ventilator unit as needed. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients who require close observation and frequent interventions, utilizing specialized equipment and advanced nursing skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for patients requiring intermediate and telemetry monitoring.
- Administer medications and manage patients on ventilators.
- Engage patients in rehabilitation services and group activities.
- Develop and implement patient care plans.
- Utilize organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and intervene as necessary.
- Monitor patients with chronic and complex respiratory problems.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2 years of nursing experience required.
- ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
- Experience in HICU or LTAC preferred.
- Maryland or Compact nursing license required at time of submission.
