Option 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM + every other Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Option 2: Two 12-hour shifts

Job Description

The MRI Technologist performs technical MRI assignments and exercises complex skill, judgment, and knowledge of the principles and methods of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The role includes performing diagnostic MRI studies as requested while adhering to infection control guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment, coils, and related devices with accuracy.
• Evaluates image quality, positioning, and coil selection based on procedure guidelines.
• Demonstrates competency in RIS for patient demographics and charges.
• Utilizes PACS for image processing, review, protocol selection, and troubleshooting.
• Ensures adherence to magnet safety protocols for self and patients.
• Follows prescribed techniques for administering MRI and contrast media.
• Recognizes emergency situations related to contrast media and takes appropriate action.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS License and certification as a radiologic, nuclear medicine, or ultrasound technologist required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Completion of an AMA-approved 2-year Radiologic Technology program.
• Preferred 1-2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology and MRI.
• Maintains mandatory continuing education credits in Radiologic Technology.
