Schedule
Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15). Must work every other weekend.
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled RN for a step-down unit that operates similarly to an ICU. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with critical care settings, particularly with strong drip management and telemetry skills. The candidate must be capable of floating to a sister unit as required.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor patients with acute conditions, unstable hemodynamics, and respiratory distress.
- Administer medications including vasoactive drips and blood products while monitoring patient response.
- Provide care for post-operative patients and handle complex cases including OB complications.
- Utilize telemetry systems for patient monitoring and recognize/interpret dysrhythmias.
- Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams and utilize IV protocols as necessary.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certification.
- Experience with arterial lines, titrating vasoactive drips, and telemetry management.
- Must be comfortable with IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and line care/management.
- Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, and tracheostomy management is essential.
