Job Description

The Wound Care RN will provide specialized care for patients with various wound types, including pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, and surgical wounds. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position requires significant patient assessment, and wound care management including the use of advanced treatments such as KCI wound vacs.

Responsibilities

• Review consults and divide workload with peers.
• Conduct thorough head-to-toe patient assessments.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team including doctors, social workers, and nurses.
• Manage wound care orders and ensure appropriate treatments.
• Provide patient education on wound care and management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient clinical experience required, with a preference for wound care experience.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• WOCN certification (approximately 1 year to obtain) or WCEI certification (1 week to obtain) required.
