Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. Under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist, you will provide essential physical therapy services per patient plans of care, focusing on rehabilitation and enhancing patient mobility and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Deliver treatment to patients based on physician prescriptions and evaluations established by a Registered Physical Therapist.
• Implement care plans developed in collaboration with the Registered Physical Therapist to relieve pain and restore function.
• Assist patients with exercises, muscle re-education, and activities of daily living, including training for transfers and prosthetics.
• Utilize physical therapy equipment effectively and safely.
• Observe, document, and report patient reactions and changes in condition to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on self-care techniques.
• Complete and submit accurate clinical notes and documentation in a timely manner.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Vermont and New Hampshire or hold a compact license.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• One year of experience as a PTA in a home health care setting is preferred.
