Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit. This fast-paced environment requires a nurse capable of managing multiple labor assignments and providing exceptional care for obstetrical patients. This unit handles over 300 births per month with an average patient ratio of 2:1 during shifts. The nurse will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide care for both high-risk and standard prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the care of obstetrical patients, maintaining high standards of nursing practices.
- Conduct sterile vaginal exams and manage immediate newborn care.
- Participate in patient triage and treatment plans for high-risk antepartum and postpartum care.
- Prepare patients for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, preferably 3 years.
- Candidates must possess the following certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP.
- Experience with high-volume obstetric settings (>300 births/month) is required.
- Knowledge of EPIC electronic medical records is preferred.
