Job Description
The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment following applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. The role emphasizes quality patient care and a strong commitment to safety for both patients and employees.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' levels of functioning upon physician orders and plan appropriate treatments.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students.
- Complete all documentation following department policies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and promote safety within the work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to provide optimal patient care.
- Document training and use of equipment with patients and/or family.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- Must hold a valid, current state license as an Occupational Therapist.
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient hospital experience required.
