Schedule
Rotating between day and evening schedules, with a typical pattern of three-day shifts plus one off shift. Off shift options are 0845-1915, 1045-2115, or 1245-2315. Call includes one weekday call per week plus one 24-hour call in each four-week schedule block.
Job Description
The Operating Room Registered Nurse will provide patient care within the surgical unit, ensuring that all necessary protocols are followed. The nurse will be expected to scrub all specialties except for cardiovascular cases and have experience with trauma in a large, trauma level 1 setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing surgery.
- Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to safety protocols.
- Be flexible with scheduling to accommodate the unit's needs.
- Work two out of the four major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Prior travel experience is required.
- Minimum of two years of OR RN experience.
- Experience in a large (500+ beds) trauma level 1 facility.
- EPIC experience from within the past two years is non-negotiable.
- Ability to scrub all general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap cases, trauma, thoracic, and vascular except for CVOR cases.
- BLS certification required.
