4x10 hour shifts; Days with weekends and holidays on call as per unit needs, approximately 1-2 callbacks per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images and assisting in interventional procedures. This role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure efficient operations and adherence to patient rights and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce diagnostic quality images.
• Administer oral contrast as necessary during exams.
• Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
• Assist Radiologists during procedures, demonstrating proficiency with all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems.
• Report equipment malfunctions to management.
• Completing all assigned procedures efficiently, while utilizing downtime for departmental support.
• Ensure medication security is maintained for authorized personnel only.
• Participate in performance improvement activities within the hospital.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and use hospital information systems responsibly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in radiologic technology.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of New York.
• AART certification is required; VIR certification is a plus.
• Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is highly preferred.
