Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, while preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with nursing regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as the primary nurse.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely and according to policy.
• Participate in nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and comply with policies.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.
• Support a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Five or more years of direct RN experience, with specific experience in cardiac telemetry.
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, relevant skills certification as required by the unit.
