Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities while preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN acts as an advocate for individuals and families in their care. Responsibilities include compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and other relevant guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care managing a group of patients.
• Educate patient and family on health promotion and disease management.
• Utilize pharmacology knowledge to safely administer medications per hospital policy.
• Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and contribute to improvement initiatives.
• Engage in continuous professional development and education.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Six months to three years of Nursing (RN) experience.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Critical Care experience is required; Epic experience is preferred.
