Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The MedSurg RN will provide exceptional, evidence-based care on the Intermediate Care unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down unit. This unit caters to adult, acute care patients requiring specialized attention exceeding that of a general medical-surgical floor. The RN will be instrumental in ensuring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring, advanced airway management, and managing patients on various IV infusions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency responses, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV therapy, including peripheral line care and management.
• Utilize non-invasive airway management techniques and oxygen administration.
• Implement isolation precautions as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum one year of MedSurg RN experience.
• NY State RN License in hand.
• BLS Certification required.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is a hard requirement.
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
