40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, between 7:30 am - 5:30 pm EST. No call or holidays required.

Job Description

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing x-ray procedures efficiently and safely while ensuring patient comfort and care. This role requires the verification of patient identity and physician orders, careful use of x-ray equipment, and maintenance of high imaging standards.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physicians' orders prior to x-ray procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to capture images of patients as per physicians' instructions.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address their concerns respectfully.
• Correctly position patients for procedures, including assisting those with limited mobility.
• Ensure safe handling of all radiologic equipment and maintain low radiation exposure to patients.
• Observe and interpret patient status to meet age-specific needs.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for Radiologist interpretation.
• Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or damage.
• Utilize electronic patient information systems for verifying patient details and exam specifications.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure images are uploaded correctly to the PACS system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• NYS license or eligibility to obtain prior to starting.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist.
• Experience in the operating room and with portable x-ray equipment.
• Current BLS certification.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift or move patients and stand for extended periods.
