This is a 12-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00); Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (19:30 - 07:30). Requires weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage.

Job Description

The Shock Trauma PACU is a specialized 12-bay unit providing peri-anesthesia care for trauma patients. Our team operates 24/7, delivering vigilant pre- and post-operative care to both outpatients and inpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgeries. Nurses in this unit must be competent in titration of vasopressors, airway management, care of ventilated patients, blood product administration, and fluid resuscitation.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive peri-anesthesia care.
Manage critically ill patients requiring close monitoring.
Administer medications and monitor responses during recovery.
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety.
Participate in patient education and advocacy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Active Maryland or Compact License.
Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PACU or similar setting preferred.
Charge experience preferred.
