3x12.0 Shift including Days, Evenings, Nights, Rotating Shift Schedules, On Call, Call Back, Holidays, and Weekends as needed.

Job Description

The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing additional observation to determine if the patient's condition is serious enough for admission to the hospital or if the patient can be treated and released home safely. The Observation unit is a very fast-paced environment that turns over 20 to 27 patients per day, with an average length of stay of 27 hours. The unit has 24/7 provider coverage, catering to a diverse adult population of both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients. Patients will range from short stay to full admissions.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Observation unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Manage medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN License (NY License ONLY)
• Two years of Med/Surg Experience
• Telemetry experience
• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
• NIHSS (Preferred)
