Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis by collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in accordance with policy.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process effectively.
• Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and begin patient education based on identified healthcare needs.
• Communicate pertinent changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and necessary supplies.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
