Days 7a-7p, Every 3rd Weekend, On-Call (must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in)

Job Description

A professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, and collaborates with other health care team members. Assists in the orientation process of new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients.
• Participate in the establishment of a collaborative plan of care.
• Implement and evaluate the plan of care and modify it as appropriate.
• Complete documentation according to established standards.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and implement individualized education plans.
• Actively participate in nursing department initiatives and in-service opportunities.
• Provide age-appropriate care for the specific population served.
• Perform all functions according to established policies and professional standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• At least 3 years of experience working in OB, Postpartum, and/or L&D.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current NRP certification.
• Current STABLE certification.
