4x12-Hour rotations (07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00), with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Acute Stroke Unit at Rochester General Hospital is a 39-bed combined unit that specializes in the care of acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders, as well as acute medical patients. The unit follows an adjustable acuity delivery of care model to provide evidence-based care during the primary prevention and acute care phases of stroke.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg patients.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response tasks, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV therapy and phlebotomy, including peripheral line care and management.
• Utilize respiratory support equipment such as nasal cannulas and oxygen face masks.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a valid NY nursing license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent MedSurg/TeleRN experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• EPIC charting experience is a must.
• Candidates must float between units as needed.
