This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shifts available: 2x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30) and 2x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:30). The PACU is open from 07:30 to 20:30, and the nurse could be scheduled any time within these hours. Weekend shifts every other weekend and holiday coverage required as scheduled.

Job Description

The PACU RN will be responsible for the care of patients during the post-anesthesia period. They will work with various patient age groups, including pediatrics, adolescents, and adults. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for post-anesthesia patients in the PACU.
• Perform assessments and monitor patient vital signs.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapy.
• Coordinate care with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery.
• Document all patient care activities and outcomes accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid MD RN State License
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU or similar setting
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Charge experience is required
