Job Description
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures. This role requires the ability to circulate in multiple service lines including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, GI, Spine, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry. The OR RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing plans of care, and providing direct care to ensure the best patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Circulate surgeries in specified service lines and collaborate with the surgical team.
- Assess patient and family needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide direct care and evaluate patient progress throughout the surgical process.
- Educate patients and families regarding self-care post-discharge.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention strategies and safety protocols.
- Promote a healing environment through emotional support and effective communication.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license in [State].
- At least 2 years of OR nursing experience required.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all through AHA/RQI).
- Experience circulating in various surgical procedures as listed in the job description.
