Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe and effective environment for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients and families to set goals based on nursing assessments.
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and begin patient teaching as needed.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and manage priorities effectively.
• Ensure a safe working and patient care environment by adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Engage in team-building activities to promote a positive and efficient work atmosphere.
• Identify own professional growth opportunities and pursue continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (if applicable).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
