Med Surg RN - Mixed Oncology Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

AM shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, including a 60-minute unpaid lunch break. The position requires three 11.5-hour shifts, totaling 35 hours per week.

Job Description

The Med Surg RN position is located within a mixed oncology unit, where the nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care. The unit comprises 30 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:5 to 1:7, depending on staffing levels. Flexibility is required, as we cannot guarantee consistent scheduling of workdays.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the mixed oncology unit.
Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Sunrise Clinical Management (SCM).
Float to other medicine and surgical units as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience is required, with oncology experience considered a plus.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
