Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Technicians, and other personnel to provide patient care in the Operating Room according to State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and regulatory standards, physician orders, and the policies and procedures of the Hospital and the Surgical Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring availability and readiness of surgical supplies.
• Maintaining timeliness of surgical cases.
• Communicating with patients' families.
• Updating physician preference cards.
• Assisting physicians during surgical procedures.
• Supervising personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR Circulator.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross).
• Experience with Robotics.
