Night shift, 12-hour shifts every third weekend. Blocked scheduling can usually be accommodated based on current needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and advocacy in patient care. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development as per the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with United Health Services policy.
• Utilize effective resource management including staffing, time management, and supplies.
• Participate in Nursing Shared Governance by supporting the Unit Council and improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 6 months to 3 years of nursing (RN) experience required.
• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• NRP certification and FM certification preferred.
• ACLS and BLS skills required.
