This position involves a full-time schedule of 3x12 hours, which includes day and night shift rotations, as scheduled by the client, along with weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role will apply nursing theory, technical skills, and effective communication to deliver compassionate care to patients and families. The RN will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and provide ongoing evaluation of patient progress. Specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring, are required. The RN will also be responsible for patient and family education to promote self-care post-hospitalization and implement lifestyle changes for health improvement.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing knowledge and skills to assess patient and family needs.
• Create individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Advocate for and protect patient health, safety, and rights.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices, making necessary adjustments.
• Provide education to patients and families, facilitating understanding of self-care and aftercare needs.
• Engage in self-evaluation and ongoing professional development.
• Encourage teamwork and collaboration among healthcare team members.
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and maintain required competencies.
• Establish meaningful connections with patients and families, recognizing their central role in care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required.
