Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while adhering to the Select Medical Way and Core Values of the Company, focusing on patient and employee safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
• Facilitate communication regarding patient status and care needs during team conferences.
• Employ the nursing process for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing staff.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and calm direction.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
