Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Perioperative Care is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care throughout the surgical continuum, from pre-admission testing to post-operative recovery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, comprehensive assessment capabilities, and maintain professionalism and patient satisfaction at all levels of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric.
• Demonstrate competent clinical skills, providing direct patient care and support for the care team.
• Maintain accurate documentation according to guidelines, taking primary responsibility for patient records.
• Exhibit professionalism and knowledge of policies, identifying areas for clinical growth.
• Enhance patient satisfaction by engaging with patients and families in a courteous manner.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and employ safe transfer techniques.
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
• Evaluate pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness and completeness.
• Assess and educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and instructions.

Schedule

This position operates on a 4-day work week from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of experience in PACU or Critical Care.
• Current RN License is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• CCRN or CPAN certification is preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
