Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ER Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 13-week assignment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment providing care to critically ill patients. The ideal candidate must possess strong clinical skills and demonstrate proficiency in managing various patient scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and manage heart rhythm changes (dysrhythmias).
- Provide care for critically ill patients with multi-organ issues.
- Administer blood products and manage central lines.
- Start and maintain IVs, administer IV sedation, and vasopressors.
- Care for stroke (CVA) and ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP management.
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and follow isolation precautions.
- Perform triage duties as required.
Schedule
This position requires a shift from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, working 3 shifts per week for a guaranteed total of 36 hours. Every other weekend is required, with no blocked scheduling.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience.
- At least 2 years of recent emergency room experience is required.
- Active state nursing license required (New York or compact).
- Must hold current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.
