Registered Nurse (RN) - Day 3x12.0 Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the values of providing superior patient and employee safety within the care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis by collaborating with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program by providing direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate important patient status changes among care providers to support continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning through teamwork and effective communication.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation.
• Pursue professional growth through ongoing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift.
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.

This position operates on a Day 3x12.0 shift schedule.
