Cardiac Sonographer II

Job Description

The Cardiac Sonographer II performs moderate-complexity echocardiographic exams independently and is expected to recognize abnormal findings and exercise sound clinical judgment in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
• Independently perform echocardiographic exams with minimal supervision.
• Complete prereads on all studies and ensure adherence to established protocols and quality standards.
• Administer Definity contrast and start IVs as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Sonography or equivalent experience.
• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac sonography (required).
• BLS certification (required).
• A minimum of 5 years of cardiac ultrasound experience.
• Familiarity with Philips EPIQ ultrasound systems and Epic EMR preferred.

Schedule

This position will require a schedule of 5 days per week, approximately from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Outpatient site locations will vary between Scarborough, Kennebunk, and Biddeford.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
