This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
8-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Call requirements include 2 weeknights per week and 1 weekend per month.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. The ideal candidate must be proficient in endoscopy procedures, including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCPs, and more.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history, allergies, and current medications.
- Ensure completion of required documentation and consents.
- Prepare patients physically and emotionally for their procedures, explaining expectations and answering questions.
- Administer pre-procedure medications as prescribed.
- Monitor patients in recovery for stability, addressing pain, nausea, or other post-procedure concerns.
- Provide discharge instructions regarding medication, follow-up care, and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure patients meet criteria for discharge or safe transfer to inpatient care as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of Endoscopy experience required.
- Proficient in IV starts.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
