This position involves a 4x12 work schedule, working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekends and holidays.

Job Description

Join our dynamic 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit, providing care to a diverse patient population with conditions including cardiac issues, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal problems, and general surgery. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in patient management and treatment, ensuring high-quality care is delivered across various specialties.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage IV insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Provide support in managing IMCU patients when census requires.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries.
• Adhere to patient ratios and provide care to 6 patients per shift.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold valid ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience of at least 1 year in a hospital setting, preferably in a Med-Surg Telemetry or like unit.
• Proficiency in heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, and titration of insulin drips is required.
• CPI certification can be obtained prior to start.
• No local candidates beyond a 50-mile radius will be considered.
