Schedule

This position requires a commitment to a combination of two 8-hour shifts (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) and two 12-hour shifts (11:00 AM - 11:30 PM) per week, totaling 40 hours. Holidays and every other weekend are expected. Block scheduling must be previously agreed upon.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our 25-bed acute inpatient psychiatry unit. The RN will be trained to take charge nurse responsibilities and may float to a similar unit within the hospital. The patient population includes individuals experiencing acute psychosis presentations such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and dual diagnosis concerns. The nursing team will provide comprehensive patient care including medication administration, participation in group activities, and performing vital signs and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assume charge nurse duties and oversee admissions during shifts.
• Administer medications and manage care for patients.
• Engage in team rounds and facilitate patient group therapies.
• Conduct vital signs assessments and complete patient care tasks.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques; resort to restraints only as a last option.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Knowledge and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
