Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. This role includes the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate a return to community activities. In addition, the therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers while upholding the values of the organization and adhering to compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
  • Utilize clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and goals focused on patient progress.
  • Document medical records in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Provide care under valid physician orders within insurance guidelines.
  • Participate in student training and evaluations while creating a positive learning environment.
  • Develop a professional growth plan to enhance skills and pursue continuing education.
  • Adhere to regulations set forth by the discipline-specific State Practice Act and remaining in good standing with professional licensure.
  • Understand and engage with the organization’s performance improvement strategies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
  • 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Active state licensure for physical therapy.
  • Previous successful assignments with the agency are highly desired.
