Schedule

Biweekly schedule of 9x8s, with shifts scheduled between 6:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Includes a full call rotation with a response time of 1 hour.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Endoscopy unit applies nursing theory, technical and communication skills, and provides high-quality compassionate care to patients and their families. The RN will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, provide direct patient care, and coordinate the delivery of care throughout the patient's episode.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide direct nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
• Conduct patient education to promote self-care and health maintenance post-hospitalization.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust plans of care as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and self-evaluation of nursing practice.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention strategies.
• Deliver medications and interventions in accordance with established protocols.
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families for a healing environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN Licensure required.
• One (1) year of experience in an Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS.
