Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), weekdays, with some weekend shifts.
Job Description
The Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients with varying acuity levels. The nurse will work within a 1:4 patient ratio, flexing to 1:5 in emergency situations. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients in the stepdown unit.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy.
- Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members for comprehensive patient care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatments and care plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 1.5 to 2+ years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a medical/surgical or telemetry setting.
- 2 years of experience in a stepdown unit preferred.
- Current RN license in West Virginia or Compact license.
- Required certifications: BCLS and ACLS (must be via American Heart Association).
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
