Job Description
The Registered Nurse will deliver patient-centered care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). This position requires a compassionate and skilled nurse capable of assessing patient needs and providing advanced critical care.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for post-operative cardiac patients, including patients with Impella heart pumps and those requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
- Monitor hemodynamic status and manage advanced critical care equipment.
- Respond to rapid response and code blue situations as part of the critical care team.
- Document patient care and treatments using the Meditech system.
- Educate patients and their families about care plans and medications.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
- CCRN certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in cardiac critical care is mandatory.
- Ability to care for patients 1-2 days post-op from open-heart surgery.
