RN - Stepdown/PCU - 12 Hour Nights

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to work in a Stepdown/PCU unit. This role involves caring for patients with various complex medical conditions, including cardiac issues, post-operative care, and alcohol withdrawal management. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and titration of various cardiac drips.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Stepdown/PCU unit.
• Administer medications and manage titratable drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Angiomax.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, with the ability to troubleshoot monitoring equipment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Hospitalists and Respiratory Therapists.
• Supervise and mentor nursing aides and patient care technicians within the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Stepdown/PCU nursing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
• Experience in managing cardiac patients and familiarity with CIWA protocols.
