This is a 13-week contract position for 12-hour night shifts.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a focus on Cardio Thoracic care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing patients undergoing advanced cardiac procedures, including VADs and transplants. This role requires a commitment to quality patient care within a large, reputable facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Cardio Thoracic setting.
- Implement and manage patient care plans, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Utilize EPIC Charting System to document patient care effectively.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; monitor patient conditions closely.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Nursing license in New York (Active)
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardio Thoracic nursing
- Experience with HeartMate 3 and VAD management is required
- Experience with CABG and heart-lung transplant care
