Job Description

The Advanced Care Unit (ACU) is a designated area for patients recovering from strokes, trauma, and vascular procedures. The Registered Nurse will provide essential care for patients with conditions such as femoral popliteal bypasses, carotid issues, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and more. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient vitals and administering medications, including titrating drips as per physician's orders.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit with various conditions.
• Administer medications and titrate IV drips according to protocols.
• Read and verify cardiac strips, signing off on observations.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist with patient assessments and documentation in the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are mandatory.
• Must have experience working in a stepdown unit with patients requiring acute care.
