Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory Surgery Operating Room

Schedule

7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 4 x 10 hour shifts. No weekend or holiday requirements.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Ambulatory Surgery Operating Room is primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures. This involves ensuring appropriate documentation reflects patient assessments, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical interventions, and evaluations of patient responses to treatments. The RN will also assign and evaluate the work of non-nursing direct care providers in the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Document clinical interventions and patient evaluations accurately.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• Assign tasks to non-nursing direct care providers and evaluate their work.
• Provide a wide variety of professional nursing services in the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification - AHA required; NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.
