Schedule

Day shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Orientation is every other week on Mondays. Alternative schedules may be available upon request.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant with a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting. The successful candidate will follow the Physical Therapist's plan of care and work with an adult and geriatric patient population, providing quality care in a 390-bed acute care hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Perform patient evaluations, including strength testing and vital signs monitoring.
• Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs and safety measures.
• Utilize equipment such as crutches, gait belts, and hospital beds safely and effectively.
• Document all treatment and patient interactions in the electronic health record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification required; all certifications must be via the American Heart Association.
• Active West Virginia Physical Therapy Assistant license or pending license accepted.
• Experience with patient ratios and treatment completion in a clinical environment.
