Registered Nurse Supervisor - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all nursing functions on the assigned night shift, ensuring that high-quality care is delivered to all residents. This role requires maintaining confidentiality, complying with established policies, and collaborating with healthcare teams to provide optimal care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise nursing staff, ensuring adherence to quality care standards.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information and personnel matters.
• Coordinate care with attending physicians and assist with preparation for physician visits.
• Observe, assess, and evaluate resident health problems, communicating findings to physicians.
• Document clinical records accurately; update care plans as necessary.
• Oversee the orientation of new nursing employees on the shift.
• Communicate resident health conditions to families and resolve any concerns.
• Act as a liaison between residents, families, and physicians, providing education as needed.
• Prepare daily reports and communicate significant information to the relieving supervisor.
• Provide direct care as necessary, modeling best practices in nursing.
• Implement emergency plans in case of emergencies or disasters.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience with MatrixCare EMR is required.
• Two to four years of supervisory experience in a geriatric long-term care facility preferred.
• Strong communication, management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and perform physical tasks related to resident care.

Schedule

This position requires availability for the night shift from 11 PM to 7 AM.
