Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, working three 12-hour shifts from 06:30 AM to 07:00 PM. This position requires on-call duties, with an expectation of up to four call shifts every four weeks, and occasional weekend shifts (up to one every four weeks).

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality care in a level-one, academic trauma center. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with various surgical specialties, including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics. Nurses will be trained in both scrubbing and circulating surgical procedures within a Magnet-designated department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients.
  • Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and monitoring during surgeries.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain sterility and assist in scrubbing for various surgical procedures.
  • Adhere to safety and quality guidelines to ensure patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of two years of experience in an operating room setting preferred.
  • Current South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience with scrub roles is strongly preferred.
  • Radiation badge will be provided by the agency.
