Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for each patient.
• Complete all necessary documentation according to departmental policies and assist with new staff orientation.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and assist in training OT and COTA students.
• Promote patient and employee safety, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, adapting to their level of understanding.
• Maintain flexibility in patient scheduling and cooperate in resolving conflicts.
• Document discharge plans and equipment training provided to patients and/or families.
• Display a customer service attitude toward patients, visitors, and staff members at all times.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and document quality assurance implementations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• Must hold a valid, current State license.
• Minimum of two years of experience in occupational therapy.

Schedule

This position offers a Day shift with a schedule of 5 days, 8-hour shifts.
